I hope that everyone was safe from the ferocious storms that swept through the area over the past few days! I must say that as someone who was been through a tornado, I am VERY scared of any type of tornadic weather. So, yesterday around 11 a.m., I was watching the twins, and the skys started looking VERY scary. We cleared out the closet that is underneath the stairs and waited out the first round of scary weather.
Well, around three o'clock that afternoon my mom and my sister are came up to the twins' house to help me with the kiddos, if the severe weather continued. We lucked out, and even though we had several tornado warnings, we were never threatened.
If we were lucky, that would have been the end of the story, but that is not the case in this instance. I get home around 6:30 p.m., I even skipped my first night of Geography class because I was NOT about to be driving home at 10 p.m. in this crazy, insane weather. At this point, the skys are starting to look bad, and we knew that another bad cell was headed our way. We were happy to have our friends Michael and Lorie come stay with us through this terrible storm. Lorie and I were clearing out the "tornado closet" and of course, the brave (but stupid) men were standing on the front porch watching the lightening, when all of a sudden, we heard this terrible noise. HAIL! Oh my goodness, i've never seen hail of this size before, it was close to the size of a baseball. The first thing that crossed my mind was my freshly painted car!! And as of now, there are 7 very large, very noticeable dents in my car. So, it looks like I will be calling our insurance company soon!
However these storms did continue all through out the night, we stayed safe and no one in relation to us was injured. My aunts' cars did suffer some dings and cracks to the windows, but other than that, we are lucky to say that the damage was minimal.
